Icaros Desktop is a pre-configured AROS desktop environment for the PC platform, distributed on a bootable live-DVD running on real hardware or in a virtual machine. The AROS Research Operating System is a open source lightweight, efficient and flexible desktop operating system, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at the API level, while improving on it in many areas.

UPDATES

Update disks are compatible with all three flavours of Icaros Desktop: they can be applied indifferently to Live or Light! installations, and Icaros Desktop VE. The system must be already installed on the hard drive. To install them, you can either burn their ISO files on CD-RW or mount ISO files directly into AROS, using the LiveUpdater tool in SYS:Tools/LUPD (or on my software > system menu).
